This post is a rewrite of the blog's namesake, Gilisms. It is a compilation of thoughts and reflections by a humble author, on topics that include: views on life, generalizations of people and society, thoughts on what it means to be human, and more. Whether you're looking for an introspective discourse or simply some new perspective on "life's little mysteries," this blog is worth checking out. The Gilisms is a collection of thoughts, inspired by the musings of the author. Gilisms evolved into a blog in 2010 and has been kept up since then. Part of its uniqueness comes from the fact that it is a written record of word-for-word what was originally spoken to a close family member. This allows a more informal and natural voice to come through, while at the same time providing an opportunity for reflection. Whatever topic is being discussed, Gilisms exists to make people think about their world from a different perspective. Gilisms is a relatively new blog, however it has been consistently updated since its inception.In 2012 Gilisms was selected as a "Top 10 Blog" by the popular website, The All-In-One Social Network. In 2010 Gilism received the "Best Non-Professional Blog" award from the website Del.icio.us, which carries a gold badge denoting excellence in its genre.The All-In-One Social Network voted Gilism a Top 10 blog for 2012 for its accessible and stimulating anecdotes on life's little mysteries that will make you think critically about the world around you. The Daily Lyrical Class celebrated Gilisms' insightful writings on social issues, the human condition, and life in general. The Daily Lyrical Class described Gilisms as a blog that combines "a sense of humor with lots of introspection" in an attempt to bring us closer to ourselves. A series of interview Five Minutes with... appeared in 2012 to commemorate the birthday of the author. It was a series of s sittings with a variety of writers and rulers. A new article was published every week on the site for a month. The articles begin by explaining the thoughts behind Gilism, then moving on to "a topic that was of strong interest to him, or that he currently has on his mind". The author often chose historical figures as interviewees for this reason. These sittings gave insight into Gilism as a person, as well as his views on the world around him.
